are two types of English Game, the Oxford and the Carlisle, the latter having a broader breast. There is still an active trade in these birds, and unfortunately if you decide to keep them heightened security will be needed to prevent theft. The Carlisle comes in 15 colours, the Oxford in around 30. Not a particularly good layer, but

a friendly bird and a good choice if you want a breed that children can look after. Although the cocks may fight amongst themselves the hens are tolerant of other birds.
